  Endometrial Ablation
Is Now More Effective

There have been many advances in gynecological care in recent years, and one of the most exciting is the availability of new procedures for the treatment of excessive menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). Although menorrhagia is not life threatening, it disrupts the lives of one in five women. Consequences of heavy menstrual flow include iron deficiency anemia, fatigue, cramps, restricted activity, and embarrassing accidents.

If:

  • you regularly experience heavy bleeding
  • your periods last more than seven days
  • you bleed heavily despite hormonal management (birth control pills)
  • your bleeding affects social, athletic, or sexual activities
  • you miss work or avoid leaving home due to heavy bleeding

you may be a candidate for a new minimally invasive treatment for menorrhagia.

Endometrial ablation is a procedure that destroys the lining of the uterus (endometrium). Ablation can be performed in a number of different ways.

Women's Health Associates now offers a unique and innovative outpatient procedure to treat excessive menstrual bleeding. Utilizing the Novasure(tm) System our physicians may be able to help you avoid hysterectomy or other surgical procedures. This technique offers rapid recovery and has been clinically proven to reduce or eliminate menstrual bleeding.

We have evaluated a number of different systems and techniques, and feel confident that the Novasure(tm) is a highly effective and extremely safe method of endometrial ablation. Please call either office to schedule a consultation with one of our clinicians.
